Specialist markets create a focus in many cities selling antiques, books, crafts and farmers' produce from the UK and Europe. The design will allow for more of these popular craft fayres and food markets and encourage a variety of specialist markets to re-establish themselves in the heart of the Square where they have had an 800 year history.
We will introduce a user-friendly market stall system to encourage more stall holders. This will create a sea of canopies which will add a flash of colour on a grey day.
More high quality seating will provide something for everyone. It will also combine to provide a larger facility for special events and performances, both regular visitors to the Square and a host of new and exciting ones for people of all ages.
