New Features

The new water features are great fun and good to look at, plus they can be used in a variety of ways. They can be turned on or off, and drained to create seating areas for events and performances day or night. Here one can sit down, play in the jet fountains amongst the water or relax under the new trees and watch the world go by in peaceful surroundings.
Situated at the end of the Square nearest Beastmarket Hill, the water feature is made up of four individual pools at different levels. The levels gently slope down, weaving their way to street level. The pools would all be shallow, but range in depth and reflect light and shade through textures under the surface of the water.
A dynamic line, which follows the line of the old wall that once divided the Saxon and Norman boroughs of Nottingham, enters the Square from Chapel Bar next to the water feature, guiding people into and across the Square, and on to the Council House.
